A Comic to Read: Krazy Kat

Krazy Kat characters

I've been a comic reader as far as I remember. As a child, I was always hoping to get my hands on any kind of comic book. Nowadays, I recognise that I am not buying as much comics as I did, but I'm still keeping track of some of them.

Once you start reading about comics, you always end up hearing things about which are the most important comics ever, and Krazy Kat is one of the ones always mentiones. Its autor, George Herriman, developed in 1910 a history of a cat and a mouse, Krazy and Ignatz, which have trascended upon times as one of the most influencial comics book in history.

This comic, however, is to be read in original version. Herriman plays with images, history and words, and once it's translated it loses part of its magic since most on the jokes are lost in the translation.

It's not the usual kind of comic, and is definetly not for everyone. More information can be found at the wikipedia, in english or spanish, or in the spanish weblog 'la carcel de papel', for example.

It can also be bought in amazon, for example. Just click here.
